Did you ever think that your gift to Wisconsin Lutheran High School could save a child’s life in Somalia?

It’s possible!

Consider Leslie, who graduated from WLHS this past June and plans to double major in pre-medicine and Spanish in college.

Leslie had a dream of becoming a doctor and her parents wanted a Christian educational environment. Where could Leslie and her parents find a Christian high school that focused on high academic standards? WLHS could provide both, but the tuition costs were a challenge.

Thanks to your generous gifts for tuition assistance, Leslie was able to attend WLHS for all four years, making the honor roll! Now she is enrolled in college, embarking on the next step toward her dream.

Help me fulfill the dreams of students like Leslie who want to develop their God-given talents through a comprehensive, Christian secondary education at Wisconsin Lutheran High School.

You probably see this in your own home budget every year, things just cost more. For example, the cost of utilities and insurance premiums continue to rise. This year, I need to raise $78,000 for tuition assistance. Your generous gift of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, or more to our tuition assistance fund will enable me to reach my goal.

Allow me to share a little more about Leslie and her experience at Wisconsin Lutheran High School:

"Attending WISCO has been a blessing for me. I made many good friends. I’m sure we will remain friends well past our high school years. We all come from different backgrounds and different cultures, but we understand and respect each other. Our faith in Jesus is our common denominator."

Leslie’s desire for a Christian education moved her to choose, and stay, at WLHS; of course, that was all part of God’s plan. You know, you are a part of God’s plan, too. God is using your gifts to make it possible for families with financial challenges to be able to afford a Christian education for their children.

Leslie continues:

"I certainly grew academically during my four
years at WISCO. This is a challenging school.
You have to work hard for your grades and whatever you want to accomplish. But, WISCO prepares you for real life, whether that’s college
or a job. I know my hard work will pay off.

I also grew in my faith thanks to what I learned from my religion teachers. Chapel was really helpful. Prayer, praising God, and receiving
God’s blessing were great ways to start my day!"

WLHS offers a variety of classes to help students achieve their God-given potential.
Most importantly, God’s Word permeates everything we do in our classrooms, chapel, at sporting events, and social activities.

And what about Leslie’s dream?

"I’ve wanted to be a pediatrician since I was in
7
th grade. After I get my medical degree, I plan on traveling with a medical team at least once or twice
a year to third world countries.

I want to help less fortunate children, and through
my career as a doctor, I believe that I can. I want to spread God’s Word to others and glorify Him by us."

There are many more "Leslies" just waiting to share their stories. Young people at WLHS are learning in our classrooms because you have given them the means to be here through your gifts of tuition assistance. With your help, they too will continue to pursue their dreams. God-willing, they will also change lives by sharing Jesus.

Help me continue to provide this Christian education to young people – and in God’s divine and often intricate plan – perhaps together we can even reach out to lives in the far-reaches of the world.

With joy in His Service,

Pastor Jim Kleist, Superintendent (’68)
Wisconsin Lutheran High School Conference

P.S. Imagine it is now the year 2025. Leslie achieved her dream. With the
blessing of the Christian education and the personal encouragement she received
at WLHS, she is now a pediatrician. God’s plan for her life leads her on a
medical mission to Somalia. There she treats a young boy with life-saving
medical care. She is serving God by helping her fellow man and by sharing her Savior, Jesus Christ.
