RICHARD & LORRAINE RAABE

Class of 1941

Stewardship

Dick and Lorraine Raabe are a living definition of the word team. Spend any time with this couple, and you will soon realize that Dick’s involvement on WELS synod committees and in WELS ministries located in the Milwaukee area, too numerous to mention, was possible with the help of Lorraine. At age 29, Dick was the youngest member of the building committee that planned and built WLHS in 1958. Forty years later, Dick and Lorraine would serve on the Leadership Team for Spreading Our Wings to help in the planning and building of our science wing and athletic field. Their work with world missionaries, on evangelism projects, in providing employment opportunities for WELS students, and through generous gifts make this couple a wonderful model of Christ-like teamwork and service.

Inducted Saturday, April 26, 2003.

Lorraine and Dick were born in Milwaukee and have been active members of St. John’s Wauwatosa for 60 years. Five of their six children attended WLHS. The Raabes currently reside in Menomonee Falls.
