Dan Schmeling

Class of 1959

Ministry

“Other than God and my family, Wisconsin Lutheran High School has had the greatest impact upon my life.” These words from Dr. Daniel Schmeling could also summarize how WLHS feels about Dan, and the profound impact he has had on the direction of the mission of WLHS. Dan has tirelessly served in the ministry for more than forty years: at the elementary level, as principal of WLHS from 1985 to 1990, and as a synodical administrator for WELS Parish Schools. God has used Dan to touch the lives of thousands of students, equipping them with the Biblical values and personal skills necessary for a lifetime of service to Jesus in their homes, churches, careers, and communities. Christian education has been his life-calling. Dan credits this calling to the teachers at WLHS, past and present, who have guided, supported, and encouraged him throughout his career and journey in life. Dr. Schmeling truly exemplifies the mission of Wisconsin Lutheran High School.
