the Attendance Office. This includes lunch periods. Students
are not permitted to go to Heppe's Amoco Station or Pick'n
Save
during school hours because these businesses are off campus.

constraints, only seniors are allowed to bring an outside
guest as their date to dances. Boys are only allowed to bring
a girl and girls are only allowed to bring a boy as their

Dress Code
The WLHS community takes seriously its
calling to help students learn and grow in faith. People’s
grooming and dress make a statement about themselves. No dress
code will please everyone, but our staff’s past experiences
confirm the need for a dress code. Listed as follows are the
dress code requirements:
• 1 Timothy 2:9 instructs people to dress in moderate apparel.
Student clothing should be modest, not attention seeking or
distracting. Revealing clothing styles are not to be worn to
school or school activities. Specifically, the following are
not to be worn:
–bare mid-riffs, halter tops, and any blouse or sweater that
reveals cleavage;
–skirts, dresses, or shorts that are shorter than 3 inches
above the knee;
–low cut jeans that reveal any skin when a person is sitting;
–pants and shorts that have words printed on the back (rear
end).
• All pants must be worn above the hips, and all young men
must wear a belt to hold up their pants at this appropriate
level. If our young women wear pants designed to be worn with
a belt, they must wear a belt as well.
• Tattered, excessively worn, dirty, frayed, patched, or
clothing with holes in it are not permitted.
• Students may only wear tank tops, shirts with spaghetti
straps, muscle shirts, sleeveless
blouses, or similar clothing when a sleeved blouse or shirt is
worn under or over it. See
through blouses may not be worn.
• Students may not wear sweat pants, warm-ups, or any type of
athletic pants, including athletic shorts.
• Students may not wear clothing classified as "loungewear"
including pajamas, slippers, or related clothing items.
• Students may wear selective clothing with logos. This also
pertains to backpacks, gym
bags, and other school-related material. However, any type of
logo that endorses
attitudes and actions that displease our Lord are not to be
worn or placed on backpacks,
gym bags, and school-related material. Some specific logos
that are not to be worn are as follows: beer, alcohol, drugs,
double meaning, vulgar language, professional wrestling
related clothing, and music-related clothing (individuals,
groups, concerts, album covers, etc.) except those associated
with WLHS or WELS musical programs.
• Students are to remove headgear when entering the school
building and keep it off as
long as they are in the building. Hoods must also remain down
as long as a student is in the building.
• Students may not wear sunglasses or outdoor wear (gloves,
mittens, scarves, coats)
during the school day. Sweaters or sweatshirts may be worn.
• Students may not wear chains that are attached to the
waistline of pants.
• Students must wear shoes or sandals at all times except in
the locker rooms.
• Students may only wear pierced earrings. No other pierced
jewelry (such as eyebrows, nose, or tongue) may be worn. Mouth
jewelry may not be worn.
• Visible tattoos are not permitted.
• Students may wear shorts until October 1 and after April 15.
• Students are to wear moderate hair styles. Hair must be
clean and well groomed at all times. Students are to be clean
shaven, but mustaches may be worn. Sideburns below the bottom
of the ear and beards are not allowed.
• The dress code is in effect on exam days.
In all of the above specifics, the school reserves the right
to determine the appropriateness of a student’s dress or
appearance. The final decision will be determined by an
assistant principal.
If during the course of a school year a new clothing style or
trend emerges that is determined by the school administration
to be inappropriate and not in support of the mission and
calling of the school, the administration will prohibit such
inappropriate clothing from being worn during the school day
or at school activities.
The administration and staff of WLHS consider continued
violation of the dress code by a student a serious matter.
Dress code violations reflect an attitude that disregards
God's directives about obeying authority, clearly summarized
in the Fourth Commandment. Consequently, violation of the
dress code will result in detentions for the first offense,
followed by more severe disciplinary action for further
violations.

Enrollment
Policy
Wisconsin Lutheran High School is owned and operated by a
conference of Wisconsin Synod Lutheran churches in the greater
Milwaukee area for the purpose of giving a Christ-centered
education to children of conference members. The school also
opens its doors to non-conference families interested in a
comprehensive, Lutheran education for their children.
In keeping with this policy, WLHS admits students of any
race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights,
privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or
made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate
on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in
administration of its educational policies, scholarship and
loan programs, or athletic and other school-administered programs.

Finances
Approximately
two-thirds of the operating costs of WLHS are obtained through
the tuition charged to students. The remainder of the
operating expenses are received through the generous support
of congregations and friends of WLHS. The tuition rate is
established annually by the WLHS Delegate Conference.
Information regarding payment of tuition can be obtained from
the Business Office. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
No diploma will be issued and no credits transferred unless
all academic and financial obligations at Wisconsin Lutheran
High School are met in full.
Only students whose school financial account is current may
participate in any extended academic, co-curricular, or
special category field trip.

Fire
Drills and Alarms
Fire drills at regular intervals are required by law and are
important safety precautions. It is essential that when the
first signal is given, everyone clears the building by the
prescribed route as quickly as possible. The classroom teacher
will give the students instructions. Students interfering
in a fire drill or intentionally setting off a fire alarm
are subject to school and civil discipline. (S.S. 94l.l3).

Gym
Lockers
Locker rooms are generally locked during school hours. Students
will be allowed to enter locker rooms only during their physical
education classes when teachers will be present for supervision.
Gym lockers are to be used for athletic purposes only. They
are not intended to serve as a storage area for extra clothing,
textbooks, personal accessories, or other materials. These
types of items are to be stored in the student's hall lockers.

Health
Services
A student who becomes ill or injured during the school day
should report to the Attendance Office/Clinic (Room 204).

returned to class. School personnel may not, by law,
administer medication to anyone.
Library-Media
Center
The Library-Media Center provides books, audio-visual materials,
magazines, reference books, and newspapers for use by students
and teachers. Students wishing to use the LMC may do so before
and after school and during assigned study periods. Students
wishing to use the LMC should go directly there and sign the
attendance sheet. Students are expected to remain in the LMC
the entire period and maintain a studious atmosphere. The
LMC also offers a copy machine, audio cassette duplicator,
video cassette players, computers, and CD Rom programs on
school-related projects for student use.

Lockers
Students are
assigned and held responsible for their lockers. They are not
to share their locker with others. Lockers are to be used for
the storage of coats, jackets, books, and other appropriate
items required for school-related activities. No locks are
allowed on lockers. Do not keep valuable items in your
lockers. The school will not assume liability or
responsibility for the loss of any property. Lockers should be
kept clean and orderly. Items may be attached to the inside or
outside of lockers with non-abrasive materials or magnets
only. Students are responsible for any locker damage. A
minimum charge of $l5.00 will be assessed for damaging a
locker. Combinations should be kept confidential. If a locker
combination needs to be changed, a $5.00 assessment will be
made. Locker problems may be reported to the receptionist,
with thefts reported to one of the assistant principals.
The administration reserves the right to make locker
inspections without advanced notice. All lockers must be
completely emptied at the end of the school year for locker
maintenance and cleaning.

spaces available for student use are listed on the Business
Office bulletin board.
Students who park in
faculty, visitor, fire lane, or other non-designated areas are
subject to disciplinary action (Saturday detention).
The
school will not assume liability or responsibility for damages
to an auto or theft of an automobile or its contents parked in
