Wisco Alum Underwrites New Science Class
Thanks to the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin (OHOW), Brian Cramer (’81) and his wife, Michelle, this school year WLHS added an anatomy and physiology class.
Since OHOW and the Cramers have committed $75,000 during the next four years to establish the course, it will be recognized as Anatomy and Physiology, sponsored by the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin.

Brian is CEO of OHOW and a long-time friend and supporter of WLHS. In fact, he served on the WLHS Foundation Board of Directors for five years.
The class has also led to a new faculty member in the Science Department. “The teachers at Wisco made all the difference to me. They helped guide me and were instrumental in my future. I’ll never forget Mr. Larry Numeric, Ms. Margaret Gullixson, Coach Glen Raasch and Mr. Bruce Heckman,” says Brian. “I feel blessed that I’m able to play a small part in exposing Wisco students to a potential career path.”
In August, Mr. Jason Nickels began teaching Anatomy and Physiology, sponsored by the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin. Nickels joined the faculty after eight years with Mequon Nature Preserve where he was director of research and education. Prior to that, he taught biology at Lakeside Lutheran High School for nearly a decade.
“Wisco put me on the path to where I am today. It instilled in me a solid Christian faith and the desire to serve, through the military and health care, and now to give back to my high school and help kids who are interested in medicine and science," says Brian.
