WLHS Welcomes First Academic Dean

WLHS is pleased to welcome Mr. Jim Brandt as our first ever Academic Dean. He served most recently at North Shore Christian Academy as school Developer. Before that he was at Wisconsin Lutheran College from 2009 until 2018 in several roles such as Executive Director of Adult Education, Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing, and the Vice President for Adult and Graduate Studies.
From 2004-2012, he was adjunct faculty for Graduate Studies at Martin Luther College where he developed and taught a graduate course in Supervision of Instruction and advised program candidates on capstone/thesis research. His vast experience in administration also includes five years as the administrator for the Commission on Parish Schools of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and two years as associate administrator. While there he co-founded the WELS New Teacher Induction pilot program in collaboration with the New Teacher Center, Santa Cruz, Cali., and the Southeastern Wisconsin New Teacher Project; redesigned the WELS principal mentoring program; and among other things founded the Administrator Candidate Training program. He was principal at St. Mark Lutheran School, Citrus Heights, CA, from 1998-2002 and the PK-12 Administrator for Crete Evangelical Lutheran School & Illinois Lutheran High School, Crete, IL, in the 1990s. Mr. Brandt began his ministry in 1989 doing cross cultural outreach at Living Word Lutheran School in Mission Viejo, Cali.. In short, he's served, taught and been an administrator at every level of Christian education.
