English Excellence Summer Camp at WLHS

WLHS wrapped up its first ever English Excellence Summer Camp.  In total, fifty-five students from Cambodia, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam have participated. A special one-day program also included fifteen Korean students from a high school in Daegu, South Korea as part of the camp activities. The three-week camp consisted of morning English skills classes, with each week additionally including a STEM, History, or Fine Arts course. In the afternoons, students participated in excursions throughout the area including Milwaukee County Zoo, Six Flags Great America roller coaster park, a Brewers baseball game, Noah's Ark water park, and more. The camp was led by WLHS staff. Our thanks to the many student "American friends" (teens from WLHS and area Lutheran grade schools) who joined the field trips and helped our international campers feel welcome.
