Viking Christian Leaders: Wisdom

Congratulations to Ian Beck ('20) and Grace Schneider ('22) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of January under “The Wisco Way Word": Wisdom. We thank God for the way Ian and Grace have modeled Christian wisdom at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leadership Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Ian is from Wauwatosa, Wis. He is a member at Grace Lutheran Church, Downtown Milwaukee and attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School in Wauwatosa.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Ian has participated in track (9-10), Plautz Fund (11), Chess team (all four years), is an American Mentor for our International Student Program, and has been on the honor roll his senior year.

Ian volunteers at his church as an usher and assisting with the annual Advent dinners.
For fun, Ian enjoys reading, philosophy, and politics.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Ian plans to attend Wisconsin Lutheran College for his undergraduate degree and then on to Marquette University to pursue a law degree.

Ian characterizes wisdom in Christian leadership as not only knowledge, such as test scores, or the college one attends. Wisdom is the ability to know what to say at the right time, and what not to say at the wrong time.

Grace is from Muskego, Wis. She is a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego and also attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School.

Currently a sophomore at Wisco, Grace has participated in volleyball (9-10), track (9-10), been on student council (9-10), Wisco Witnesses in the World (9-10), honor roll both years, and will attend the Grenada mission trip this spring.

Grace volunteers at her church assisting with their church picnic.

For fun, Grace enjoys beach volleyball, and spending time with friends and family.

At this time, Grace plans to apply for and attend college.

Grace characterizes wisdom in Christian Leadership as keeping Christ’s purpose in mind in every decision, and knowing that he is ultimately in control. And to use Christ’s example in the way you treat others.
