Vikings Move Into First Place Tie

The Vikings avenged a loss from December and moved into a tie for first place in the Woodland West with a 93-75 win over New Berlin Eisenhower.

Eisenhower came out hot, hitting five of their first six three-point shots and opened up an early lead. The Lions extended their advantage to 10 points, 41-31, on a layup with just under two minutes left in the half. But Wisco responded with a 22-3 that spanned the break to take control of the game. The Vikings ended the first half on a 12-1 spurt, capped by Tyrese England's triple at the buzzer, and went into the locker room up 43-42. The break did not stop Wisco's momentum. They started the second half with a 10-2 run to go up 53-44, and the Lions did not get closer than six points the rest of the way.

England led the Vikings with 24 points on 10-15 shooting. Josh Knueppel connected five times from behind the arc and finished with 15 points. Isaiah Hopf grabbed six rebounds and snatched four steals to go with his 15 points, Jonah Rindfleisch battled foul trouble but still finished with 15 points and six rebounds, and Prentice Young turned in a 14-point, seven rebound, seven assist effort.

More stats are available here. The Vikings can clinch at least a share of the conference title with a win at Greendale next Friday.
