Active Shooter Drill
On Tuesday, March 1, WLHS conducted an active shooter drill. After our daily chapel service, students remained in assembly and watched an A.L.I.C.E. training video. ALICE is an acronym for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Confront, Evacuate and is a department of education-approved strategy for dealing with an armed intruder.
After a brief review of the video, students were informed that later in the day a drill simulation would take place giving each classroom a chance to process the training during two different scenarios. Unfortunately, this practice is now as normal as fire and tornado drills. Join us in praying, we will never have to use it.
