Girls Track Wins State Indoor

Led by meet MVP Jaiah Hopf, the girls track & field team claimed first place at the W/TFA State Indoor Championships held at UW-Whitewater on Saturday. The team scored 29.5 points to edge out Homestead and Mukwonago, who both scored 28.

Hopf established a new meet record in winning the triple jump with a leap of 39-9.25. She also won the long jump at 19-5.75, edging out Rachel Blaskowski of Oak Creek by three-quarters of an inch. Later, she teamed up with Annabelle Coudron, Bella Backus, and Myla Ellis for a fourth place finish in the 4 x 200m relay (1:50.46). The final Wisco points on the day came from Kayla Wigley, who tied for fourth in the high jump with an effort of 5-0.
