Viking Bats Put Hurt on Packers

The bats of the Wisco baseball team came alive on a big way on Friday afternoon, as the team put up a season-high in runs and rapped out 16 hits in a 16-5 win at Cudahy.

A five-run 3rd inning and six-run 6th inning were more than enough for the Vikings. Ryder Derouin paced the offense with a perfect 5-5, 4 RBI performance at the plate, which included a pair of doubles and a solo home run in the top of the 1st. Lucas Oswald also went yard, part of a 4-RBI game, and Ziggy Johnston enjoyed a 3-4 day at the dish and stole two bases.

Carlos Walta earned the win on the mound. He struck out seven and allowed only three earned runs in four innings pitched. Logan Abramowski provided two solid innings of relief.

The Vikings are back in action on Saturday when they take on Saint Thomas More at The Rock. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
