Softball Bounces Back With Win Over Pirates

After two narrow defeats, the Wisco softball team got back on track Thursday with an 8-2 victory over Pewaukee at Rainbow Park.

The Vikings led from the get-go, taking advantage of a single, an error, and an RBI groundout from Eden Rader to score twice in the 1st inning. The 3rd inning saw two more runs cross the plate courtesy of an RBI single from Sydney Vitangcol and a Pewaukee wild pitch. They tacked on three more runs in the 5th thanks to back-to-back run-scoring doubles from Rader and Tabby Fromm and an RBI single from Kenly Frey, and scored one last time in the 6th on an RBI groundout from Emily Buch.

Sofia Schroeder made the runs stand up. She went the distance, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out five to earn the win. She also went 2-4 at the plate along with fellow freshman Vitangcol to lead the offense.

The 5-2 Vikings travel to Lakeside Lutheran for a 5 PM non-conference matchup on Friday, April 22.
