Breaking Ground on Outdoor Athletic Complex

On Friday, May 13, WLHS celebrated our official groundbreaking for a new outdoor athletic complex that will serve as a multipurpose space for co-curriculars and additional Junior Vikings programs. Appropriately, the ceremony took place within the context of our daily chapel service and gave glory to God for this project and the blessings ahead. The complex will be named Zeitler Stadium in honor of WLHS alumni and Baltimore Ravens guard Kevin Zeitler ('08) and wife Sara ('08) whose generous support has helped enable the project to move forward. Local media Milwaukee Journal sports reporter Mark Stewart, WISN12, and Milwaukee Biz Times helped share the news with the community. The old track and practice field are already gone, and one can see daily progress. Our hope is that we will play our 2022 Homecoming game at the new stadium.
The complex will include:
  • An artificial turf stadium field and multipurpose field;
  • Energy efficient LED lighting;
  • A full polyurethane poured track;
  • An athletic trainer facility with additional storage;
  • Batting cages for softball and baseball;
  • Additional parking; and
  • Patio reception area
“This project is going to allow Wisconsin Lutheran High School to update their fields, surfaces and training areas for all our athletes. This in turn will help our athletes to perform at their God given best,” said Kevin Zeitler. “It'll also allow WLHS to host more competitions on campus allowing more children and people to be exposed to the school. It should have a very big impact for years to come.”
