Viking Christian Leaders: Faith

Congratulations to Austin Bluemel ('23) and Allison Koh ('22), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of May under “The Wisco Way Word": Faith. We thank God for the way Austin and Allison have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leadership Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Austin is from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. He attended grade school at Christ the Lord and is a member at Brookside Baptist Church in Brookfield.

Currently a junior at Wisco, Austin has participated in Soccer and Football.

Austin has also volunteered at his church by helping with Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and Kid’s Church, evangelizing, and helping with preparations for mission trips.

In his spare time, Austin enjoys sports, riding dirtbikes and four wheelers, building pickup trucks, and off roading.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Austin plans to pursue business and management at Waukesha County Technical College and work at his family’s auto body shop in Milwaukee.

Austin characterizes faith in Christian leadership as trusting only in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, remaining faithful and trusting in him no matter what because God is in control always.

Allison is from Seoul, South Korea, where she attended grade school. She is a member at Myungsung Presbyterian Church.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Allison has participated in the National Honor Society and helped coordinate the Bible study in the residential hall.

Allison has also volunteered at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

In her spare time, Allison enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and writing.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Allison plans to pursue a degree in Pharmacy at the State University of New York in Buffalo.

Allison characterizes faith in Christian leadership as the everlasting rope that connects us with Christ, a tool that protects us and keeps us from relying on earthly measures, and the foundation of everything that matters in Christian life.
