Cross Country Team Mission Trip to Colorado

Coaches Lueck and Hernandez led 18 members of the boys cross country team on a week-long mission trip/cross country camp to Boulder, Colorado. After a 15-hour road trip to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church the boys helped with a three-day VBS soccer camp. In addition to the mission, the boys enjoyed the natural beauty of Colorado where they visited Rocky Mountain National Park, the Flatirons of Boulder, the University of Colorado, and went to a Colorado Rockies baseball game.
Pastor Kieselhorst said that the VBS camp would not have happened without the participation of the cross country team boys who did an outstanding job working with about 40 younger kids. In addition to the many sites and hikes, the boys continued their summer running in the altitude of Colorado. They ran the iconic Magnolia Road at nearly 9,000 feet.  Finally, this trip was made financially possible largely by the generous donations of the alumni of WLHS Cross Country. Their gifts allowed the boys to be a gift to others in Colorado — a true blessing.
