Loving Those Who Are Not Like You
On April 25, WLHS held the last of this year’s topical assemblies that address, from a Christian perspective, the challenges and temptations teens face. Following comments from three of our students, Pastor Mike Novotny, a WELS pastor from Appleton and the main speaker for Time of Grace Ministries presented “Loving others different from you.”
With humor and insight, Pastor Novotny showed how our “differentness” from each other can take many forms, and while showing love to those who are like us is easy, Jesus calls us to love those who are different even as he reached out to those different from him in nationality, gender, morality, and social standing.
For the past two years, we have offered one of these assemblies each quarter and intend to continue this practice in the future.
