My First Christmas

Micah Ricke
Attila H. (freshman from Urumqi, China) describes his first Christmas in America. A huge thanks to the Bush family for opening up their hearts and home to Attila and all the other families who invited an international student into their family this vacation!
"This is my first time spent Christmas in America, and I spent 15 days in American host family. During this time I learned many cultures about Christmas. Such as exchange gifts, go to relatives house eat lunch and dinner, also go to church in the morning, and so on. Surprisedly they also prepare some gift for such as gift card, cash and pajamas, and after we exchanged gifts we had steak and noodles for the dinner.

Also during this time I feel Christmas is very important festival to American, because they think on this day Jesus was born. As we know Jesus is a very important person to Christian, therefore Christmas become most important festival in America. On this day all people will go back to their home be together with their families. I think Christmas is similar to the yuándàn because on these two festival all people will go back to their hometowns and be together with their families."
