Two Birds with One Stone
Kate Xu (senior from Shanghai, China) describes a very packed Saturday this month where she "killed two birds with one stone" . . .
"Every time when we go out with warm clothes; every time when we sit on the side of table and waiting for food if you will feel thankful for keep on complaining the small thing happened today. In fact, in some poor country, they never have this before. They hard work only because of the basic allowance. However, they even can not wear a pair of shoes, because they do not have, therefore, in that day, we came to Soles for Jesus and help them to separated the shoes which will send to Africa in order to help them.
At first, because it is a Saturday morning, we are not willing to get up early. However, after we started to helping, we found out it is more interesting than we think. Active Mrs. Metzger makes us more happier to work together. First, we need to find a pair of shoes, and then find the number of the shoes, finally separat them into different boxes. Sometimes we worked together, and sometime we worked alone with full of laugh. We are willing to share our love with other unconditionally, because God shares his love his love to us first.
At the same day night, our Antioch girls went to a restaurant together, which like teppanyaki. We can have a bowl, and we can put our favourite food with favourite sauce, and do not mind how high it is if it is fit in bowl. There are two girls helped each other to fill the bowl, as the result, after the cooking, the plate is full of food. This make us consider of they can finish this much food. Finally, most of us feel content about our dinner.
Saturday is enrich, although there is not time for me to write homework, relaxing one day make me feel happy. Not only help others, but also fill myself, today I kill two two birds with one stone."
