The boys basketball team rode a strong second half to a 68-63 triumph over Wauwatosa East in a WIAA Regional Semifinal at WLHS on Friday night. Quincy Minor and Brunard Williams scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Vikings to victory.
Wisco trailed for much of the first half and the early part of the second half but did a better job taking care of the basketball and hitting the offensive glass to pull ahead for good. Williams, who had 10 rebounds to go along with his 21 points, connected on all nine of his free throw attempts to help seal the victory. Minor connected three times from behind the arc and had six rebounds and three assists on the night.
The win avenges a December loss to the Red Raiders and puts the Vikings in the Regional Finals. They travel to Milwaukee Washington to take on the Purgolders at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 3.
