Viking Christian Leaders: Integrity

Congratulations to Alyssa Ebeling ('21) and Luke Wegner ('21) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of February under “The Wisco Way Word": Integrity. We thank God for the way Alyssa and Luke have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leadership Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Alyssa Ebeling is from Wauwatosa, Wis. and attended grade school at St. John's Tosa, where she is also a member.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Alyssa has participated in cross country, track and field, winter running, Inspiration, steel pan band, and brass band. She has also been involved in math track, book club, drama club, Student Council, WWW, VCLA, and NHS. Alyssa has taken Chinese at Milwaukee Modern Chinese School, done research in microbiology and soil science, published a presentation at the International Society of Exposure Science, and gone on mission trips to China, St. Louis, and Canada.
She has volunteered at her church by babysitting for parents in Bible class, playing trumpet during services, writing for Catechism study and Bible study, canvassing, cleaning, and decorating the school.
 
In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys reading, hiking, doodling in the margins of homework sheets, writing with friends, and dancing while doing the dishes.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Alyssa plans to major in linguistics or mathematics.
 
Alyssa characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as acting sincerely, holding yourself accountable to God, and serving others in love.

Luke Wegner is originally from Blantyre, Malawi. He is a member at St. Marcus Lutheran in Downtown Milwaukee, where he also attended grade school.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Luke has participated in soccer, track and field, cross country, and Esports. He has also been involved in forensics, math track, book club, WWW, American International Mentor Program, VCLA, and NHS. Luke has volunteered at his church by ushering.
In his spare time, Luke enjoys running, spending time with friends, having quality conversations, and playing Settlers of Catan.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Luke plans to go to Martin Luther College to be a pastor.
 
Luke characterizes integrity in Christian leadership as living life with precise intentions in all the vocations that God calls you to do with a spirit of joy and thanksgiving.
