Viking Christian Leaders: Faith

Congratulations to Silas Ebeling ('23) and Lauren Roedel ('25), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of May under “The Wisco Way Word": Faith. We thank God for the way Silas and Lauren have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Silas is from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He attends St. John’s in Tosa, where he also went to grade school.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Silas has participated in cross country, track and field, Winter Running Club, Inspiration, and Viking Steel. He has also been involved in Hope Squad, VCLA, WWW, Student Council, NHS, Math Track, and Stock Club, and he has served on the board for the Vi-Tech/Plautz Fund.

Silas has volunteered at his church by ushering.
 
In his spare time, Silas enjoys hanging out with friends and running.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Silas will be attending Wisconsin Lutheran College for biochemistry.
 
Silas characterizes faith in Christian leadership as living and emulating the confidence we have through Christ’s saving work and sharing that joy with others.


Lauren is from Franklin, Wisconsin. She attends St. Paul’s in Franklin, where she also went to grade school.
 
Currently a sophomore at Wisco, Lauren has participated in cross country, track and field, Viking Steel, and Pit Orchestra. She has also been involved in Student Council, Transfer Team, Book Club, WWW, and Hope Squad, and has served as an American mentor to an international student.

Lauren has volunteered by playing piano for church services, helping with Sunday School and VBS, serving on Camp Phillip J-Staff, and being a part of youth group.
 
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends, being outside, listening to music, and reading.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Lauren is considering going into the field of psychology.
 
Lauren characterizes faith in Christian leadership as living with the joy that comes from being able to always trust God’s plan.
