The Raabe Legacy Society

Dick ('41) and Lorraine ('41) Raabe were an integral part of WLHS and its ministry from the beginning. As graduates of Lutheran High School, Dick served as the youngest member of the planning and building committee for WLHS in the 1950s. Dick and Lorraine started a four-generation tradition of sending their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to WLHS.

Their example of stewardship and servant leadership for more than 60 years has served as a model for many. Due in part to their vision and commitment, the ministry of WLHS has grown in its ability to nurture and reach out to the youth of southeastern Wisconsin and beyond with the message of Jesus.

Through the Richard G. and Lorraine Raabe Legacy Society, the WLHS Foundation honors and recognizes friends and alumni who have endowed family scholarships and many other areas of the ministry of WLHS.

Membership in the Raabe Legacy Society is conferred upon all planned giving donors who have included WLHS or the WLHS Foundation in their estate planning in one of the following ways:

Provide for WLHS or the WLHS Foundation in their will or trust;
Designate WLHS or the WLHS Foundation as the beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan, savings bond, bank account, or life insurance policy;
Designate WLHS or the WLHS Foundation as the recipient or grant ownership of any property, land precious metals, coins, etc.
Create a planned gift that returns fixed or flexible income to you or others; or
Fund a scholarship with an annual gift and then endow this scholarship with a future estate gift to the WLHS Foundation at a later time.

WLHS can do a great deal to win souls for Christ. Students during their high school years are extremely impressionable and are at one of the riskiest times of their lives. The pressures on them are immense and their experience dealing with those pressures are minimal. The impact WLHS can have on these kids is enormous. In addition, in recent years the Lord has given WLHS a wonderful opportunity to reach souls that otherwise may not know their Savior through the School Choice program. So now, WLHS can play both offense and defense winning souls for Christ!

We simply love the ministry of WLHS! After we had children, we determined it was a good time to set up our estate plans. Working with our attorney, it was easy to set-up a bequest for WLHS and provide for our children should something happen to us both. Not only was the gift easy to set up, it's the right thing to do. God gave us all that we have; you can't take it with you. Ensuring that future generations will have a Christian education is important to Michelle and me. Leaving a legacy gift to WLHS supports our goals of Christian stewardship.
