Important Senior Dates

The WLHS 2021 commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Field at the Rock Sports Complex (7035 S. Ballpark Drive, Franklin, WI).

This outdoor venue was chosen for its larger capacity to offer physically distanced seating and to accommodate 2,000 guests. The stadium is the home of the Milwaukee Milkmen, an independent professional baseball team; it is located about 20 minutes south of WLHS.

Two large, free surface parking lots are available near the stadium entrance; they hold more than 1,000 vehicles and have handicapped-accessible spaces.

Graduating students will be seated six feet apart on the infield, facing a stage set-up just beyond second base. Guests will be seated in stadium seats and bleachers. All participants and guests will be required to wear face coverings while at Franklin Field.

This is an outdoor venue with minimal overhead cover. Umbrellas are not permitted inside the stadium as well as helium balloons, air horns or other distracting items. Rain ponchos are recommended for light rain.

NOTE: Mandatory rehearsal for graduation will take place on Friday, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. at WLHS. All seniors must be present for the rehearsal.

List of 5 items.

  • Tickets

Graduating students will be able to bring up to eight guests to the ceremony, in addition to themselves. Children two years of age and under will not need a ticket to enter the stadium, provided they will be seated on someone's lap and won't be occupying a seat.

Seating is general admission and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Handicapped-accessible seating is available in several areas of the stadium. Gates will open at 10:00 a.m.

Tickets will be handled electronically to provide a touchless entry system. Graduating students will receive a link for reserving tickets in May. An email will be sent to parents and students when that link is available. Guests will receive their electronic tickets through their graduate. No tickets will be distributed or available at the gate.
  • Photography

The event will be broadcast on a video board on the third-base side. There will not be an opportunity for guests to take up-close photos of graduates during the actual ceremony.

A professional photographer will take individual photos when graduates receive their diploma. We will supply ordering information closer to commencement.

The ceremony will be livestreamed online for friends and family members who are unable to attend. The livestream link will be shared in the near future. A recording will also be available on our website after the event.
  • Caps, Gowns, and Footwear

Students will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony without the graduation cap and gown that was provided for them. Decoration of graduation caps and gowns is not permitted.

Stiletto high heels or any heel with a point will NOT be allowed for graduates due to the turf. Only flats, wedges, or athletic-leisure shoes are permitted.
  • After the Ceremony

To find your student more easily after the ceremony, make arrangements beforehand with him/her to meet at a specific spot.
Families are requested to leave the grounds by 2:00 p.m. so the complex can prepare to host an evening game.
  • Inclement Weather

In the event of severe inclement weather, we will move the graduation ceremony to WLHS. That determination will be made by 6:00 a.m. the day of the event. This information will be available on our website and emailed to parents.

Each student will receive four rain tickets, two red and two blue. The two red tickets give admittance to the main gym where the graduation ceremony will take place. The two blue tickets will give admittance to the auditorium and/or the cafeteria where the ceremony will be livestreamed from the main gym. The livestream will also be available on our website. Seating will be very limited. These tickets will be given out in May and an email will be sent when they are being dispersed to graduates.
