On April 27, the WLHS Chick-fil-A Leader Academy hosted Foster Field Day. Seventeen foster children enjoyed a joyful afternoon on Victory Field filled with games, relay races, and—of course—snacks! Each child was paired with a dedicated “Viking buddy” who made them feel welcome, kept them safe, and shared in the fun. It was a day of smiles, sunshine, and new friendships.
The event was a partnership between WLHS students in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy andKingdom Workers, an organization that supports foster families through resources and volunteer training for respite care. Kingdom Workers helped promote the event and manage registrations, while Chick-fil-A Leader Academy students handled event planning, volunteer recruitment, and on-site coordination. More information about Kingdom Workers Foster Care volunteer program can be found here.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Jim Frazier and Chick-fil-A for sponsoring the Leader Academy at WLHS. Your support empowers students to put their faith into action—developing compassionate, servant-hearted leaders who are making a meaningful impact in their communities.
