For the past three years Mr. Marc Shambeau has been diligently working to complete nine graduate level math courses from James Madison University. He is completing his final two courses this semester and will earn a masters degree in mathematics to complement his masters of arts already earned through Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC). Mr Shambeau has been taking these courses not only to gain a deeper understanding of the mathematics he is teaching, but also to qualify himself to teach dual credit (high school and college) math courses.
This year will mark the first time WLHS is able to offer dual credit Calculus 2 and 3 through WLC. For over 10 years WLHS math department was only able to offer AP Calculus BC, the equivalent to Calculus 2. Now, WLHS students will be able to complete both Calculus 2 and 3, which will give them 12 college math credits instead of just eight. We have 18 students who are eligible and taking advantage of this opportunity this year. Thank you, Mr Shambeau, for all your hard work and dedication to create greater opportunities for our students. Blessings as you finish up your last two classes!
