Armed Intruder Drill
On November 30, WLHS conducted an armed intruder drill. After our daily chapel service, Mr. Ryan Solie ('00), Director of School Safety, instructed students and staff about proper safety measures using the ALICE protocol in preparation for the afternoon drill that same day. ALICE is an acronym for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Confront, Evacuation and is a department of education approved strategy for dealing with an armed intruder.
After the drill, students and teachers had time to discuss what they might do in different scenarios. Unfortunately, this practice is now as normal as fire and tornado drills. Join us in praying we will never have to use it.
