Veterans Day Program Honors Faith, Courage, and Service
On November 11, WLHS students, staff, and guests gathered to honor our nation's veterans during a special Veterans Day Program. Lt. Col. Jeff Tiegs (’87), U.S. Army Special Operations (Ret.), served as keynote speaker, delivering his address “De Oppresso Liber: Life Behind Enemy Lines.” Drawing on more than 25 years in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, Lt. Col. Tiegs shared how his faith has guided and sustained him through years of combat and confronting evil firsthand. Now president of Skull Games Solutions, he leads a team supporting law enforcement in counter sex-trafficking efforts and is the author of Where Have All the Heroes Gone?: A Pilgrimage Through the Bible, the Battlefield, and Back Home Again.
Seminarian Zach Scheuerlein, a second-year student at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and mechanic for the Minnesota Army National Guard, served as guest preacher.
The program offered a powerful reminder of gratitude for those who serve and of the faith that strengthens us in every battle.
