Vikings Shut Out Hilltoppers

The Wisco baseball team won a big non-conference affair on Monday afternoon, topping Marquette by a score of 2-0 at The Rock.

Sophomore Jake Ross turned in a sterling performance, going the distance and shutting out the Hilltoppers on just four hits. He walked two and struck out 11 in earning the victory on the mound.

The Vikings got him the only run support he would need right away in the top of the 1st. Logan Abramowski led the game off with a double. He was sacrificed to third by Zach Adams and brought home by Ryder Derouin's RBI groundout. Wisco tacked on another run in the 3rd with two consecutive two-out hits. Adams singled to left and Derouin's double to right brought him around to score and make it 2-0.

The Vikings are now 9-3 on the season and host Whitnall at Rainbow Park on Friday, May 6.
