Viking Christian Leaders: Gratitude

Congratulations to Seviyon Doss ('24) and Minori Higashi ('24), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of November under “The Wisco Way Word": Gratitude. We thank God for the way Seviyon and Minori have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Seviyon is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a member at St. Philip’s Lutheran, where he also attended grade school.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Seviyon has participated in wrestling, football, Chess Club, Art Club, Language Learners Club, and Canoe Club.

In his spare time, Seviyon enjoys playing volleyball, wrestling, yoga, and playing chess.

After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Seviyon is planning on going into the Marines and becoming an engineer.

Seviyon characterizes gratitude in Christian leadership as always appreciating the small things that teachers, students, employees, and even strangers do for us.

Minori is from Japan, where she attended grade school.

Currently a senior at Wisco, Minori has participated in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, NHS, WWW, Art Club, Fashion Club, Language Learners Club, the Pilot student newspaper, and Critical Thinkers.

Minori has volunteered in the community by helping children with special needs with homework and socializing with others. She has also volunteered with rescue animals and with taking care of children at church.

In her spare time, Minori loves drawing, ceramics, listening to music, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her dogs.

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Minori plans to major in psychology and art to help children improve their mental health through art therapy.

Minori characterizes gratitude in Christian leadership as reminding ourselves of who we are today thanks to all the people around us and communicating that appreciation to others.
