Volleyball Sweeps its Way to Woodland Tourney Title
The Viking volleyball team swept the conference tournament on Saturday to claim the 2018 Woodland Conference title. The squad did not drop a set en rout to the school's first volleyball championship in the Woodland.
In pool play, Wisco defeated Pius XI, Greenfield and Shorewood. In the semi finals, they knocked off Pewaukee and then in the finals they downed Greendale to complete the sweep of the tournament.
Leading the way statistically was Julia Treichel with 41 kills and 32 digs. Carissa Sundholm added 39 kills. Grace Beyer tallied 98 assists and 6 aces. Morgan Dunn had 6 aces and 29 digs. Natalie Tesch added 9 blocks.
The Lady Vikings start regional play Thursday night at home at 7:00 pm against the winner of Martin Luther and New Berlin Eisenhower.
