Late Rally Comes Up Just Short
A rally in the bottom of the sixth inning was not quite enough for the Viking softball team, as they fell to South Milwaukee 3-2 at Rainbow Park on Thursday.

Despite a strong start from Melissa Tonn (2 earned runs and 7 strikeouts in 7 innings), Wisco fell trailed 3-0 after five and a half innings. After a walk and an error, back-to-back RBI singles by Evah Pinnow and Tonn trimmed the lead to 3-2. The Vikings advanced the tying run to third with one out, but a double play snuffed out the rally and they would not score again.
Tonn went 3-for-3 at the plate to help her own cause. Pinnow, Lauren Braatz, and Alyssa Kieselhorst also recorded hits for Wisco.
