Softball Shuts Down Greendale
The Viking softball team claimed its second straight win on the diamond, defeating Greendale 8-2 on the road Wednesday afternoon.
Wisco jumped on the Panthers for two runs in the top of the 1st, scoring on Melissa Tonn's RBI double and bringing in another thanks to an outfield error. They stretched the lead in the 3rd, plating 4 runs thanks to Leah Pinnow, Emily Buch, Chloe Koschnitzke, and Kylie Bilitz. The team added single tallies in the 6th and 7th on an error and another RBI from Bilitz. Melissa Tonn shut down the Greendale offense, holding them scoreless until the final inning.
Buch paced a 13-hit attack with a 4-for-4 day at the plate. Meyer, Pinnow, and Koschnitzke each added a pair of hits, with Meyer scoring a team-high 3 runs. Tonn struck out 4 and allowed just 2 runs in her complete game effort.
The 4-3 Vikings travel to Shorewood on Friday, May 14.
