Baseball Bounces Back With Win Over Falcons

One day after seeing their nine-game winning streak snapped, the Wisco baseball team got back to work and picked up a road win over Whitnall by a score of 6-4.

Ryder Derouin got the Viking offense started with an RBI single in the 1st. And after the Falcons picked up two unearned runs in the bottom of the 2nd to go up 2-1, he doubled in Tyler Danko with the tying run in the top of the 3rd, then scored on Lucas Oswald's single to give Wisco a lead they would not relinquish. Oswald would add insurance with a solo home run in the 5th, and Carlos Walta capped the team's scoring in the 6th by singling in Ziggy Johnston to make it a 6-2 game.

Mason Ruh picked up the win on the mound, striking out 10 batters over 5.2 innings and allowing just 2 earned runs. Ethan Waldenmeyer earned the save. The Vikings conclude a busy week with a doubleheader at Shoreland Lutheran on Saturday, June 5. Game 1 is slated to start at 10:00 AM.
