The Next Generation of Science Storylines

This year, Biology students have been using real data to learn about life in an approach called Next Generation Science Standards Storylines. Instead of learning about each major topic as an isolated subject, all major areas of biology are merged into a single cohesive storyline.  Students recently learned about the complex behavioral and genetic relationships within a lion pride along with other organisms that live in relation to these different lion prides across the continent of Africa. Students were highly engaged and intrigued by this approach.
