2022 Festival Dance

The theme for this year's Festival Dance is Out of this World. The dance will take place at Wisconsin Lutheran High School's gymnasium on Saturday, February 5, from 7:00-10:30 p.m.

All students will need to have a means of transportation from school promptly at the end of the dance. Curfew is 11:00 p.m. in Milwaukee County, so it is important that our students not be allowed to walk home or take the bus after the dance.
WLHS seeks to conduct dances that will provide for the social development of its students in accordance with the Word of God. To help young Christians develop norms of behavior that are consistent with God's ways, the following guidelines have been developed:
  • Dance cost: $11 per person, includes refreshments
  • Attire: Semi-formal (NO JEANS!); young men wear ties or sweaters and young women wear dresses or dress pants. Dress should be modest and God pleasing. *Please note the expanded dress code protocol below.
  • Guests: Due to limited space, only seniors are allowed to invite guest dates from other schools. A senior girl may bring her boyfriend and a senior boy may bring his girlfriend. They may not bring in guest dates for others.
  • Dances must be chaperoned by faculty and administration with parental help.
  • Students are expected to conduct themselves and dress in such a way that they reflect the will and love of their Lord.
  • Only seniors may bring guests; all guests must be registered and must be limited to one guest per person.
  • WLHS seniors are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
  • Students will not be admitted to the dance any later than 8:00 p.m. and must have a school I.D. to enter.
  • Once a student leaves the building, he or she may not re-enter; if students need to go to their cars, a chaperone must accompany them.
  • No alcohol, tobacco products, or any other illegal substances are allowed on the premises. All standards noted under "Behavior - Inappropriate" on pages 15-16 of the 2021-22 WLHS Student Handbook apply to this event.
* Upon entrance, chaperones who take tickets and check ID's will also monitor for dress code standards. If a chaperone determines that a student's dress is inappropriate, he or she will be sent to Mrs. Wenzel, WLHS fashion tech instructor, for a possible adjustment or alteration.

Mrs. Wenzel, with another adult present, will make a visual assessment of what will be required to bring apparel to an appropriate standard. She will explain what adjustments or alterations she is prepared to make and how she will make them. At that point, the student will make a choice:
  • He or she agrees to the adjustment or alteration and allows Mrs. Wenzel to make the adjustment or alteration.
  • He or she agrees to wear something (e.g. a shirt that provides appropriate coverage) that the school provides.
  • He or she may call a parent or guardian to bring a different outfit to school.
  • With parental permission that a chaperone has verified, he or she may leave the dance and return in an outfit that meets standard.
  • He or she may leave the dance for the evening.
Thank you for your cooperation.
