Vikings Push Past Greendale

A deliberate pace proved no problem for the Vikings on Friday night, as they topped Greendale 65-41 to improve to 18-2 on the season.

The host Panthers attempted to stall on offense in an effort to slow the game down. The Wisco defense responded by disrupting Greendale's efforts. The Vikings had 15 deflections, 13 steals, and forced 23 turnovers on the night. The offense was a bit slower to catch up, but Wisco still led 28-18 at halftime. A 15-0 run to start the second half removed any doubt about the outcome. Six points from Prentice Young and five from Landon Key helped power that spurt, which saw the Vikings open up a 43-18 lead less than five minutes into the half. The defense continued to lock the Panthers down - Wisco limited the hosts to just three points over the first 12 minutes of the second half.

Young led the team with a season-high 16 points and added three steals and a pair of assists. He was the only player in double figures on a night that saw a balanced attack. Josh Knueppel scored eight points off the bench, Key added seven points and two steals in his first start in three weeks, Jamiir Allen scored six points to go along with three steals and two assists, and Kon Knueppel had five points, three steals, and three assists.
