Wauwatosa East Wins Wild One

The Wisco baseball team came out on the short end of an entertaining game on Saturday, losing in walk-off fashion at Wauwatosa East by a score of 9-8.

The Raiders struck early with two runs in the bottom of the 1st. A bases-loaded walk from Ziggy Johnston and an RBI single from Logan Abramowski tied the game in the 2nd, and the Vikings forged ahead in the third on Carlos Walta's single to center. East put together a big inning in the 4th, scoring five times to go ahead 7-3. The lead stood at 8-4 heading into the 7th before Wisco mounted a rally. The Vikings scored four runs with two outs in the frame to tie the game at 8 apiece. Johnston and Jake Ross drew bases-loaded walks and Abramowski and Zach Adams provided run-scoring singles. But the Raiders had a two-out answer of their own in the bottom half of the inning. A walk with two away followed by an error in the outfield sent the winning run across the plate for the hosts.

Abramowski paced the team at the plate with three hits and three RBI in five plate appearances. Walta went 3-4 and Will Hotchkiss was 2-4.

Wisco returns to conference play on Tuesday, May 10, when they host Greendale at Rainbow Park.
