Soccer Stops Pius on Senior Night
The Viking soccer team improved its record to 9-2 with a 4-0 triumph on Pius XI on Senior Night at WLHS. It was the final game at the WLHS stadium before construction begins on the new turf field.
Sydney Biebert gave Wisco momentum in the early going with a tremendous save in goal on a penalty kick by the Lady Popes. Offensively, Mia Butler set the pace with a goal midway through the first half. Maddie Festerling and Mara Matus each added scores for the Vikings. Senior Savannah Sievert finished off the night with a goal off of an assist from Maggie Shiery.
The Vikings now stand at 5-2 in conference play. They head to face Pewaukee, who is an unblemished 7-0, on Wednesday.
