Morning Assembly: Black History Month

After chapel, on March 14, a school-wide assembly met to celebrate African-American dance and contributions to art. Students spent weeks rehearsing choreography, monologues, and songs to present this first annual student production. Wisco was excited to welcome back former WLHS student Christopher Gilbert, theater production professional and dance instructor, to assist in the production.
After the presentation, alum Dr. Joan Prince ('71) addressed the assembly with encouraging words of Christian unity. The Prince family dedicated a letterman jacket worn by her brother, Eugene ('70), to the high school. While at Wisco, Eugene broke barriers in academic and athletic success. Following high school, he was accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point. Wisco's multi-ethnic student body is a distinct blessing and underscores how unity in Christ applies to all nationalities as the Scriptures declare.
