Viking Christian Leaders: Courage

Congratulations to Aubrey Bauer ('24) and Tyler Heiman ('24), who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of April under “The Wisco Way Word": Courage. We thank God for the way Aubrey and Tyler have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Aubrey is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attends church at Pilgrim Lutheran in Menomonee Falls and went to grade school at Garden Homes Lutheran.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Aubrey has participated in cross country, basketball, soccer, Viking Steel, WWW, VCLA, NHS, and the Ski & Snowboarding Club. She serves as President of Student Council, and has gone on a Wisco mission trip to Grenada. She will go on another mission trip this summer to Brazil.
Aubrey has volunteered by leading Sunday School and playing guitar at her church.
 
In her spare time, Aubrey enjoys playing sports, being with friends and family, and cooking.
 
After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Aubrey will attend UW-Platteville, where she plans to major in Health Science and continue playing soccer.

Aubrey characterizes courage in Christian leadership as being willing to step out of your comfort zone to be a leader and face every challenge head on.


Tyler is from West Allis, Wisconsin. He attends church at Living Hope Lutheran in West Allis and went to grade school at Lamb of God Lutheran.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Tyler has participated in baseball, VCLA, and NHS. He has gone on a Wisco mission trip to Austin, Texas and will go on another one this summer to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tyler has volunteered at his church by ushering and helping with Vacation Bible School.
In his spare time, Tyler enjoys listening to music, hanging out with friends, spending time outside, and fishing.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Tyler plans to attend Martin Luther College, in New Ulm, Minnesota, where he plans to study for the pastoral ministry.
 
Tyler characterizes courage in Christian leadership as being able to boldly face any challenge and help others face their challenges, knowing God is with you every step of the way.
