Welcome to our New Staff

We are pleased and excited to introduce the newest members of our Wisconsin Lutheran High School staff:  

Cheryl Belott ('98) is joining our World Languages Department as a Spanish teacher. She has worked in MPS and the School District of Waukesha as a Spanish teacher for the past 14 years. Cheryl is currently pursuing a masters in educational leadership. She is excited to be serving along side her brother, Brian Gottschalk.
Brian Doebler accepted our call to teach theology. He is currently serving as a pastor in Redding, California and has had experience with Spanish language outreach in Santa Ana. Previously he served six years at Immanuel in Fort Wayne, Texas. While at the seminary in Mequon, Pastor Doebler coached soccer at WLHS.

Lindsay Hughes graduated from Martin Luther College this past May and was assigned to teach physical science and chemistry in our Science Department. She is a science major who student taught at both the elementary and secondary levels. This summer she is getting married to Matthew Knight.  

Emily Jiles
 ('03) is a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College and Marquette University with a Master's degree in School Counseling. She spent the last 8 years working at HOPE Christian High School where she has done work in admission, college counseling and as a Director of Operations. She will be joining our WLHS staff as a Guidance Counselor.  

Tamara Leyrer has accepted the call to be our International Student Program Coordinator and instructor. Her husband's ministry led her to live in Taipei, Taiwan for nine years. After, she served at St. Croix Lutheran High School where she taught Mandarin Chinese, did international student recruitment, and ran cross-cultural programming.  

Tim McEachern ('99) is joining our Science Department as a Biology teacher and department coordinator. Previously he has taught at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, Southern Lutheran Academy, and Luther Preparatory School. Tim is enrolled in the MLC Graduate Studies Program with an emphasis in instruction. He is excited to get reintroduced to all the great things going on in Milwaukee and is looking forward to serving with his former teachers and friends at WLHS.

Casey Pufahl has taught at St. Croix Lutheran for the last 17 years. He will be joining WLHS as a Fine Arts teacher and choir director. Casey is thrilled to start a new chapter in his teaching career at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. He looks forward to getting to know the faculty, staff, families and especially, the students.

Marc Shambeau taught at Northland Lutheran High School for the past five years. He will be joining our math department this fall and is currently working on his Master's degree in Leadership through Wisconsin Lutheran College.
