Welcoming Mrs. Tammy Leyrer to our International Program!
We are blessed to have Mrs. Tammy Leyrer join our international and Student Homes community this year! Mrs. Leyrer comes with a wealth of experience after having helped developed a successful international program at another school in the Midwest.
Tammy and her family lived in Taiwan from 1996-2005. Many Chinese parents are happy to have Tammy on staff because she speaks Chinese and understands what it is like to live abroad. Tammy will be visiting China for recruitment this November and is looking forward to meeting the parents of our students to share information about their student's life at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, answer parents' questions and work together to provide the best education for Chinese students. Tammy enjoys educating students on how to be a successful international student so that they can reach their educational and personal goals. Tammy runs programs to help students develop skills to be successful leaders that are comfortable working with people from different cultures; such as, student leadership teams, American mentors to new internationals , and volunteering programs. Tammy has a Master's Degree in World Language Instruction and is also teaching the International student religion class this year.
