Our Funky Family Olympics

Micah Ricke
Isabella Iglesias (a freshman from Alexandria, Virginia who lives in Antioch House) describes our last Funtivity of the year:  Our Funky Family Olympics . . .

"The Funky Family Olympics was a great way the end the school year!

Everybody who lives in the Student Homes takes part in this last fun activity! We all went over to the park across the street from the houses and began the activities! The first game that was played was lighting or what we call in VA “knock out." Mr. Ricke beat everyone who played that game, which was good because he was on my team!

The most disgusting game we had was the “milk chug”! The goal of this game was to chug two cartons of milk the fastest, but when everyone started chugging the milk just came running down their cheeks! It was so gross!

After all the games were over with, it was time for the medal ceremony. The red team won by one point over the blue team, so they got Funky Family medals and got to be in line for food first. Thanks to Mr. Halter, who cooked burgers and brats for us, they were amazing!

The Funky Family Olympics will be something I look forward to doing next year!"
