Viking Christian Leaders: Courage

Congratulations to Julianna Kulhanek (‘25) and Mikiah Hopf (‘25) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of April under “The Wisco Way Word": Courage. We thank God for the way Julianna and Mikiah have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Julianna is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attends church at St. Jacobi in Greenfield and went to grade school at Saint Lucas in Milwaukee.

Julianna was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for courageously supporting others and sharing Christ's love, despite whatever challenges she might be facing.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Julianna has participated in soccer, track & field, Viking Christian Leaders Academy, Wisco Witnesses in World, and National Honor Society. She has also gone on WLHS mission trips to Nashville and Brazil, and she will go on the London mission trip this summer. Julianna has also been in studio Irish dance her whole life.

Julianna has volunteered by teaching Kids’ Club at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church.
 
In her spare time, Julianna enjoys watching Premier League soccer with family, hanging out with family and friends, Irish dance, reading, playing piano, baking, and learning languages.
 
After graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Julianna will attend WLC, where she plans to major in Criminal Justice and Spanish.
 
Julianna characterizes courage in Christian leadership as boldly speaking up in difficult times and displaying Christ’s love even when no one around you is.


Mikiah is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attends church at Victory of the Lamb in Franklin and went to grade school at St. Marcus in Milwaukee.

Mikiah was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for his courageous leadership around school and consideration for others.
 
Currently a senior at Wisco, Mikiah has participated in track, basketball, football, Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, National Honor Society. He has also served as an American mentor to an international student. Mikiah has gone on a WLHS mission trip to Grenada and the Civil Rights Tour.

Mikiah has volunteered by serving as an usher at his church.

In his spare time, Mikiah enjoys hanging out with people, watching movies, and working out.
 
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Mikiah plans to attend UW-La Crosse for Physical Therapy and running track.
 
Mikiah characterizes courage in Christian leadership as persevering and doing the right thing, even if it means no one else is doing it.
