Alex is originally from Thailand, but now lives in Milwaukee. He attended grade school at St. John’s Milwaukee and is a member at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Alex was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award because he consistently lives out his faith with humility, positivity, and a servant-hearted mindset, always putting God and others before himself. He inspires those around him to grow in faith, kindness, and character, both in and out of the classroom through his leadership, encouragement, and Christ-centered example.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Alex has participated in track and field, rock climbing, winter running club, Baritone Choir, Wisco Friends, NHS, VCLA. He has gone on the Civil Rights Tour and on a Wisco mission trip to the Philippines. He is also attending a mission trip to Thailand this summer.
Alex has volunteered at the food pantry, as well as at Zion Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls as an usher and youth group helper.
In his spare time, he enjoys long naps, gardening, the sun, a lot of exercise for a lot of food, being with his mom and grandma, and saying inspirational quotes to friends.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Alex will attend MLC to major in Theology and minor in Education. He plans to attend the Seminary after, with hopes to become a pastoral missionary overseas with the Friends Network.
Alex characterizes faith in Christian leadership as having Christ solely at the center so that whatever we do reflects our Savior.
Josie is from Waukesha. She attended grade school at St. Paul’s in Muskego and is a member at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield.
Josie was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award because she consistently puts others before herself and leads with compassion, faith, and a genuine desire to make everyone feel seen, heard, and loved by God. She sets a powerful example of Christ’s love for those around her through her servant leadership, strong academic commitment, and bold expression of her faith in both words and actions.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Josie has participated in volleyball, WWW, NHS, VCLA, and Art Club. She has also served on Student Council and as an American mentor to an international student.
Josie has volunteered at her church by helping with the kids’ nursery, leading elementary ministry, and major events. She has also volunteered at Wisco for the auction and Kids Carnival.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, baking, ceramics, spending time with friends, being around kids, lifting weights, and listening to worship music.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Josie will attend Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado. She is undecided on her major at the moment, but is interested in Nutrition and Kinesiology.
Josie characterizes faith in Christian leadership as being confident in the fact that we are all put on this earth intentionally by a loving Creator who desires to work in and through our brokenness for His glory and this changes the way we live because, in the end, absolutely everything is for Him.
