Freshman Transition to High School Meetings

On Wednesday and Thursday, August 27–28, all freshmen will take part in important transition sessions during study hall, led by our School Counselors. These sessions will introduce students to life at WLHS, provide an assessment to begin building a personalized Academic and Career Plan (ACP), and give access to Xello, our online ACP tool. The goal is to equip freshmen with the knowledge and resources they need to start high school with confidence and begin planning for their future.

Freshman families are also encouraged to review the following checklist of exit outcomes supported by School Counselors throughout the year:
  • Explore and participate in at least one extracurricular activity
  • Learn about post-secondary options that align with interests, abilities, workforce needs, and financial feasibility
  • Complete a four-year course planner and personality traits assessments
Additional programs, services, and resources can be found on the Student Services Resource Board (login here).
