Mission Trips Continue to Florida and Colombia

Mission trips continue with teams returning from Colombia and Florida. On the Colombia mission trip, the team, led by Spanish teachers Cheryl Belott and Tanya Tranberg, assisted the congregation in Medellín by participating in church activities and interacting with their youth/teen group. Guided by the local vicar, they practiced Spanish, visited historic sights, built relationships with members of the local congregation, and immersed themselves in the culture.
The Florida mission team and staff leader Sarah Bauer journeyed to Navarre, Florida, to partner with Risen Savior Lutheran Church. The team hosted a VBS soccer camp, helped build a tortoise enclosure at the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, and served in a variety of ways. In their free time, they soaked up Florida’s beauty—feeding alligators, relaxing on the beach, enjoying local food, and watching a Blue Angels air show.

These trips were a meaningful blend of service, faith, and celebration as students shared Christ’s love and prepared for new chapters ahead. For more photos of all mission trips, visit the WLHS Facebook and Instagram pages.
