Congratulations to Chad Gatson (‘26) and Talia Meister (‘26) who were selected as Viking Christian Leaders for the month of September under “The Wisco Way Word": Unity. We thank God for the way Chad and Talia have modeled servant leadership at school and in the community. Any student or staff member may nominate a student for the Viking Christian Leaders Award which is presented each month to one young man and one young woman.
Chad is from Milwaukee. He attended grade school at Atonement Lutheran Grade School, and also is a member at Atonement Lutheran Church.
Chad was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for his uplifting spirit and positive attitude to build up his track teammates and create friends.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Chad has participated in track and basketball, and been a member of WWW (Wisco Witness in the World), art club, and gone on the Civil Rights Trip.
In his spare time, Chad loves playing basketball with friends and spending time with family.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Chad is planning to go to Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) for a career as an electrician.
Chad characterizes unity in Christian leadership as a means to involve and encourage everyone in a God-pleasing way.
Talia grew up in Milwaukee and attends St. James Lutheran Church. For grade school, she was homeschooled.
Talia was nominated for the Viking Christian Leader award for unifying students in co-curricular activities, specifically in her role as an American mentor to new international students and as co-president of the Global Leadership Team.
Currently a senior at Wisco, Talia has participated in the rock climbing club; the woodwind, jazz, and Viking Steel ensembles; and has been a member of WWW (Wisco Witness in the World), Hope Squad, National Honor Society, Viking Christian Leader Academy, Plautz-ViTech Fund, Page Turners book club, the Pilot school newspaper, and the Global Leadership Team. She also serves as an American Mentor and took part in the Viking Steel tour.
Talia volunteers for her church by playing piano and clarinet in worship service and also helping with Sunday School.
In her spare time, Talia enjoys rock climbing, playing music, and spending time with family and friends.
After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Talia is considering going to Wisconsin Lutheran College and pursuing a degree in pre-law.
Talia characterizes unity in Christian leadership as a spirit of welcome and inclusion, treating everyone as brothers and sisters in Christ.
