WLHS was blessed to welcome Pastor Jonathan Kangongo to campus today. Pastor Kangongo serves in Lusaka, Zambia, where his ministry includes two Lutheran schools—Kaunda Square and Matero—which each serve more than 315 students. Through the Vulnerable Children’s Foundation (VCF), these schools are able to continue their important work of providing education and sharing the love of Jesus with children in need.
Pastor Kangongo preached in chapel on the importance of world mission work, reminding us of the heart of our God who “so loved the world.” To celebrate his visit, the A Cappella Choir performed an African-inspired song to joyfully welcome him. Pastor Kangongo also visited with our International students from Africa.
This year, WLHS has selected the Vulnerable Children’s Foundation as one of the two destinations for our Our Hands for His Service (OHFHS) gifts and donations—continuing our meaningful connection through past mission teams led by Rev. Dr. Phil Huebner. To watch the chapel service, click here.
